With Operation Templar drawing to a close we say goodbye to the harsh deserts of Syria and relaxing days at Akrotiri sipping whiskey sour's at Colin's Beech Bar & Grill. Trading it all for an even harsher desert and the sights and sounds of Kabul! 

The ANZUS fly in to the Afghanistan area of operations was completed without too much drama, most participants manged to tank without issue and avoid the MANPAD's to arrive in theatre for Operation Resolute Falcon.

The environment will offer a change of pace with operations focused on the Close Air Support, Patrol and Precision Strike mission sets against insurgent vehicles and strong holds. As well as the persistent threat from ADA and small arms fire, there is a significant low level MANPAD and short range SAM threat in the Eastern border areas with Pakistan.

Combat departures and descents are a must and flying a show of force pass can get that pucker factor up.

JDAM kits are in high supply, so it's time to put some warheads on foreheads!
